Certify Floor and Roof levels
Many local councils insist that the floor Level of a new dwelling or unit is Certified by a Registered Surveyor.
This can be for a variety of reasons but the most common are to ensure that the floor is above the flood level or to ensure that the floor is not too high resulting in overly steep driveway grades.
Often Councils have height limits too.
This is to reduce loss of views to neighbours or excessive overshadowing.
It is common for a surveyor to certify these levels prior to Council allowing occupation of the house or units.
